After taking her First Vows of chastity, obedience, and poverty, the sister enters the Juniorate stage. This stage, which lasts for nine years, continues to deepen juniorates’ relationship with Jesus through prayer, reflections, contemplation, study, community, and apostolic life. The juniorate program focuses on strengthening the sisters’ talents by providing professional knowledge necessary for apostolic work, and of the Evangelical Counsels of chastity, obedience, and poverty, as they prepare for their perpetual vows.
During the Juniorate stage, Sisters will:
- Learn to integrate apostolic life and prayer
- Deepen their understanding of the three vows
- Deepen their understanding of the charism, spirituality and the mission of the Congregation
- Learn to cope with the challenges of the religious life, community life, apostolic work and consecrated life in the world
- Prepare themselves for final vows
Additionally, many sisters pursue degrees and training programs according to the talents and the needs of the Church, including college and advanced degrees in theology, law, medicine, social work among others. Such activities continue through on-going formation after perpetual vows.
